Fall Pictures
The school will select the background to be used
for the yearbook and / or Id cards.
Before Picture Day, flyers will be sent home
showing the background(s) selected. Parents can choose their background
color and then select clothing that will go
well with it.
Spring Pictures
All of the
following rules apply to spring pictures. If your school has chosen a U
Pick A Pose program, make sure that the students hand are trimmed and
clean.
Clothing
Wear solid colors or subtle patterns that will
complement the background selected. Large stripes, loud patterns and
large jewelry can detract from the face.
Avoid shirts with slogans. This photo will be on
your Id cards all year.
Hair
It is best not to try a new style for your portraits. A style that you
are comfortable with will help you relax. If a haircut is necessary, try
to schedule it one or two weeks before your photo session. Remember to
bring a comb or brush for a quick touch-up before being photographed.
Skin
Avoid sunburn or excessive tanning, make your look natural. Sunless
tanning can appear orange under photographic lights. Don’t worry about
blemishes and breakouts, they can be retouched.
Do not eat or drink foods with a lot of artificial color. This can come
off on the teeth and lips and would need to retouched to remove.
Girls
Keep your make-up natural. Do not attempt to achieve a tan with make-up.
This usually results in an un-natural look that you will not be happy
with. Our photographic artists will remove blemishes, dark circles and
smooth the skin before the final portraits are printed. Birth marks and
scars are minimized but not removed unless requested.
Boys
Depending on the age, a neat trim or shave may be necessary. Our
photographic artists will remove blemishes, dark circles and smooth the
skin before the final portraits are printed. Birth marks and scars are
minimized but not removed unless requested.
Glasses
If you wear glasses, wear them in your portraits. Our photographers are
trained to watch for glass glare. If necessary we will take a shot of
the student without glasses to use for digital retouching that perfect
shot printed.
Remember to bring a brush, comb and make-up to freshen up between
clothing changes.
