Preparing For Picture Day
A good nights sleep is the #1 thing you can do for a great portrait. This will minimize dark circles and keep you upbeat for posing. Clothing 1.) Avoid Stripes and plaids, solids photograph much better. 2.) White or pastel colors are perfect for lighter backgrounds. 3.) Middle tones or deeper solid colors are ideal for formal portraits. 4.) Avoid clothing with wording, except for your school logo. The brand names that are cool now may not be in a few years. 5.) Avoid large prints or patterns that detract from your face. 6.) Choose long-sleeved shirts or sweaters rather than short-sleeves. Hair It is best not to try a new style for your portraits. A style that you are comfortable with will help you relax. If a haircut is necessary, try to schedule it two weeks before Picture Day. Remember to bring a comb or brush for a quick touch-up before being photographed. Skin Avoid sunburn or excessive tanning, make your you look natural. Sunless tanning can appear orange under photographic lights. Don’t worry about blemishes and breakouts, they can be retouched. Glasses If you wear glasses, wear them in your portraits. Our photographers are trained to watch for glass glare. If necessary we will take a shot of the student without glasses to use for swapping before the final portraits are printed. Girls Keep your make-up natural. Do not attempt to achieve a tan with make-up. This usually results in an un-natural look that you will not be happy with.
